There is only one thing that the event requires from you, that you kill the opposing race.
You must reach a required NP to receive the reward. If you reach it, you can get rewards.

The reward limit for Karus and Human is separate, you can see it from the red point in the screenshot.

At the bottom you can see the awards. openly or randomly.
